DOG TRAINING AT NORTHERN BEACHES ANIMAL HOSPITAL

Want a well-behaved dog - one that is more Lassie than Cujo?

Our puppy and juvenile group training classes offer a safe, controlled environment using positive reinforcement techniques for effective training. The classes are conducted by a professional trainer from Bark Busters In Home Dog Training, the worlds largest dog training company.

Puppy Pre-School

Congratulations on the new member of your family. Puppies are a lot of fun but - like children - are not born with good manners and perfect behaviour.

Without early socialisation and education puppies aren't able to learn the difference between good and bad behaviours. What was "cute" at 8 weeks can quickly become annoying, destructive or dangerous as the dog gets older. It is our responsibility as "parents" to make sure our puppies get the right training to resolve existing problems and prevent future behavioural issues.

Classes consist of four 1 hour sessions over four consecutive weeks:

* Basic obedience - sit, drop and stay

* On-lead training, walking and recall

* Problem behaviours - digging, barking, jumping, chewing etc

* Toilet training

* Socialisation with other dogs

* Safety - children, feeding manners

* Health - nutrition and diet, grooming, parasite control etc

* Communication and correction techniques

All puppies need to have had their first vaccination and be between the age of 8-20 weeks.

Juvenile Group Training

Note: Puppy class is not a pre-requisite to undertake juvenile training. All dogs aged between 6 months to 2 years are welcome

Puppy class is a great start to your dogs education and juvenile training is the next step. After 6 months of age your dog is a little older and wiser, with the intelligence and attention span to achieve better training outcomes. Starting out by reinforcing essential basic obedience commands like sit, drop and stay, by the end of the course your pooch will have graduated through to more intermediate and advanced behaviours.

Whether you experiencing behavioural problems or just want to improve on basic obedience these classes will benefit you, your dog and the whole family.

Classes consist of four 1 hour sessions over four consecutive weeks and covers basic, intermediate and advanced obedience training techniques.
